The senior issue of the paper came out today, and I was a bit shocked when I read this in the senior advice section: "Don't try your best freshman and sophomore years so there can be room for improvement on your transcript by junior year, when grades count the most." I think Lan Ly has been brainwashed by the College Application Police.
I hope this goes without saying, but don't do that. Colleges won't be impressed.
(Do remember Matt Anderson's advice, though: "Under cooked meat can be very dangerous.")
